We’re growing, and it’s an exciting time to get involved. Thanks to our community’s incredible support through the “Save Our Hospice” campaign, we’re carrying that momentum forward into a brand-new, purpose-built hospice on our West Derby site.

As we grow into this next chapter, our volunteers matter more than ever. Whether you’re fundraising, spreading the word, welcoming visitors through the door, or helping behind the scenes, you’ll be playing a real part in making sure every family gets the support they deserve.

Volunteering at Little Lights

What you’ll get from volunteering: the chance to meet new people, build confidence and skills, support local children and families, and be part of a friendly team making a meaningful difference.

Help raise funds that allow us to care for local babies, children and families.

What you’ll do
- Support bucket collections
- Help run and staff fundraising events
- Support community fundraising activity and local supporters
- Source donated raffle and auction prizes from local businesses
- Assist with our fundraising campaigns
Time commitment

Flexible: from a few hours a month to regular ongoing support.

Great if you enjoy talking to people, are comfortable representing the charity in public, and like being part of a team.

Good to know: you’ll be supported by our team, with any guidance you need before representing Little Lights Liverpool in the community.
Be part of the team that brings our fundraising and community events to life.

What you’ll do
- Support event registration and guest welcome
- Help with stewarding on the day
- Assist with general event logistics
- Support set-up and pack-down
Time commitment

Help with planning, or occasional support tied to our event calendar.

Great if you’re reliable, hands-on, and enjoy a buzzing atmosphere.

Good to know: you’ll receive event information in advance, and our team will make sure you know where to be and what to do on the day.
Support our team behind the scenes and welcome visitors as the friendly first face of Little Lights Liverpool.

What you’ll do
- Greeting visitors and answering the door
- Answering the telephone and taking messages
- General office support
- Preparing mailings to supporters
- Support fundraising and campaigns
- Help generate income by listing and selling donated items on eBay and Vinted
Time commitment

Regular: ongoing, usually a set day or half-day per week, with shifts available 9am–1pm or 1pm–5pm.

Great if you are organised, welcoming, and comfortable with computers, phones and admin tasks.

Good to know: training and guidance will be provided, and some roles may require references or checks depending on the activity.
Help raise awareness of Little Lights Liverpool out in the community.

What you’ll do
- Represent us at local awareness events
- Run information stands
- Help build and maintain local partnerships
- Support public engagement activity
Time commitment

Flexible: occasional events and activities throughout the year.

Great if you’re approachable, confident chatting to the public, and passionate about our cause.

Good to know: we’ll provide the information and materials you need, so you feel confident talking about our work.
Support our regular giving and awareness campaigns, helping build long-term support for the hospice.

What you’ll do
- Promote our lottery to supporters and the community
- Support regular giving campaign activity
- Help sign people up at events
- Support supporter recruitment
- Assist with wider campaign delivery
Time commitment

Flexible: can suit regular or occasional involvement.

Great if you’re a confident communicator and enjoy encouraging others to get involved.

Good to know: you’ll be given clear campaign messages and support before speaking to supporters or members of the public.
Awareness & Campaigns Volunteer

Support our regular giving and awareness campaigns, helping build long-term support for the hospice.

What you’ll do
- Promote our lottery to supporters and the community
- Support regular giving campaign activity
- Help sign people up at events
- Support supporter recruitment
- Assist with wider campaign delivery
Time commitment

Flexible: can suit regular or occasional involvement.

Great if you’re a confident communicator and enjoy encouraging others to get involved.

Good to know: you’ll be given clear campaign messages and support before speaking to supporters or members of the public.
Help keep our hospice and grounds safe, welcoming and well-maintained for the children, families and staff who use it.

What you’ll do
- Support with light maintenance and DIY tasks
- Help with general gardening, weeding, pruning, mowing and keeping borders and beds tidy
- Support seasonal planting and looking after outdoor and sensory garden spaces
- Help with minor repairs
- Support the setup of rooms and facilities for events and activities
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment throughout the hospice
Time commitment

Flexible: can suit regular or occasional involvement.

Great if you enjoy practical or outdoor tasks, have basic DIY, gardening or maintenance skills, and take pride in keeping spaces looking their best.

Good to know: we’ll agree tasks with you in advance and make sure they are suitable for your skills, confidence and availability.
Help spread the word about Little Lights Liverpool by getting our leaflets and posters out into the local community.

What you’ll do
- Deliver leaflets to homes, letterboxes and community noticeboards in your local area
- Drop off posters and collection boxes with local shops, cafes and businesses
- Distribute flyers ahead of fundraising events and campaigns
Time commitment

Flexible: fits around you, often tied to a specific campaign or event with a delivery window.

Great if you’re local to Liverpool, enjoy being out and about, and are reliable about getting deliveries done on time.

Good to know: This role can usually be done in your own time and at your own pace, making it a great option if you’re short on time but still want to help.
Use your time to help us move donations, supplies and equipment where they’re needed most.

What you’ll do
- Collect donated items from supporters, businesses or events
- Transport collection tins, leaflets, posters and event equipment between sites
- Help move supplies and materials to and from fundraising events
- Support occasional collection or delivery runs across Liverpool and the wider area
Time commitment

Flexible: can suit regular or occasional involvement.

Great if you hold a full, valid UK driving licence, have access to a reliable vehicle, and are happy to help with the occasional collection or drop-off.

Requirements: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential. Access to a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance may also be required, depending on the activity.
