Little Lights Liverpool has one simple belief: every baby, child and family facing the unimaginable deserves expert care, compassion and a place where they never feel alone.
For many years, families across Liverpool and the surrounding region found that place at Liverpool Zoe’s Place. It became somewhere children could play, parents could rest and precious memories could be made, supported by people who understood every step of their journey.
When the future of the hospice was placed in doubt, something extraordinary happened.
People from across the city and beyond came together with one shared purpose: to protect children’s hospice care for local families. In just 31 days, an incredible £7.5 million was raised, ensuring the future of the hospice and paving the way for something new.
From that remarkable community effort, Little Lights was born.
Today, we’re building more than a new hospice. We’re building on a legacy of compassion, generosity and hope, creating a place where even more families can receive the specialist care and support they need for generations to come.
Our name may have changed, but our purpose remains the same: to help children live as fully as possible, support families through every stage of their journey and make every moment together count.
Our Journey
1995
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice opens its doors in Liverpool, providing specialist palliative care for babies and young children.
2004
Expansion to Middlesbrough
Second Zoe’s Place hospice opens
2011
Coventry hospice opens
Third Zoe’s Place hospice opens, extending specialist baby hospice care across England

Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice unveiled following a city-wide naming competition

Ground is broken and construction officially begins exactly one year after the campaign succeeded.
