A new home for Little Lights Liverpool: Our new hospice is taking shape
A new chapter for Little Lights is being built in the heart of our community.
Something very special is taking shape at Haymans Green.
Our new Little Lights hospice is being built to give local babies, children and their families a place to feel safe, supported and at home – both now and for generations to come.
The new hospice will transform the care we can provide, creating more space for families while giving our specialist team the facilities they need to support children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
A hospice designed around families
From the very beginning, our vision for the new hospice has been simple: to create a place where children can be children and families can make the most of every precious moment together.
The new building has been designed with families at its heart.
It will include eight bedrooms, giving us greater capacity to support local children and families, alongside dedicated spaces for parents and siblings to spend time together.
Families will also be able to benefit from:
- Snowdrop bereavement suites, providing a private and peaceful space for families at the end of a child’s life
- A dedicated hydrotherapy pool
- Sensory spaces designed around the individual needs of children
- Soft play and play areas
- Specialist therapy rooms
- A cinema room for families to enjoy time together
- A multi-faith room providing a quiet space for reflection, prayer and remembrance
- Beautiful outdoor spaces where children and families can relax, play and make memories
Every part of the hospice has been considered with the experiences of children and families in mind.
This isn't simply a new building. It's a new home for Little Lights Liverpool. A place for care. A place for comfort. A place for families. A place where precious moments can be made and remembered for years to come.
Building for the future
The new hospice represents a huge step forward for us and for children’s palliative care across Liverpool and the surrounding communities.
It will allow us to support more families and provide a wider range of specialist care and therapies in one welcoming environment.
But the building itself is only part of the story.
Behind every bedroom, therapy space and garden will be a team of nurses, therapists, family support workers, volunteers and other professionals dedicated to making a difference to children and the people who love them.
From a dream to reality
The new hospice has been made possible because of the incredible generosity of our supporters.
Following our campaign to save and secure our future, the community came together in an extraordinary way, raising more than £7.5 million in just 31 days.
That generosity helped turn a vision for the future into something we can now see taking shape.
Every brick, every room and every space represents the belief that local families deserve access to specialist care, close to home.

As construction continues, we’re excited to share more of the journey with you.
We’ll be bringing you updates from the site, introducing some of the people helping to make the new hospice possible and sharing more about what each space will mean for the families who use it.
Because this isn’t simply a new building.
It’s a new home for Little Lights Liverpool.
